iTunes now with Podcasting
iTunes 4.9 with Podcasting has just been released and is now available for Free Download from the Apple iTunes website. The iTunes Music Store has sold more than 430 million songs and boasts the largest Legal Download Catalog with more than 1.5 million tracks from all four major music companies and over 1,000 leading independent labels.With iTunes 4.9 you can now browse, find, sample and subscribe to thousands of Free Podcasts which are then automatically downloaded into your computer or iPod. So far, the iTunes Podcast Directory features over 3,000 free Podcasts from favorites such as ABC News, Adam Curry, and ESPN, as well as, many of the more popular amateur shows. iTunes has a place to submit new Podcasts for “Review”, however submission will require you to have an active Apple ID.
This latest release of iTunes 4.9 helps to further bring Podcasting to the mainstream. I can’t help but feel that this is a welcome opportunity for all of us Podcasters and highly recommend that everyone submit their Podcast to the Directory.
